One of the best places to start when evaluating care options for your child is primary care. Primary care is an important preventative measure and helps ensure your child stays healthy as they grow. The Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health team provides comprehensive primary care services for pediatric patients. Care is available through Roseville Pediatrics and family medicine practices in the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health network. Roseville Pediatrics cares exclusively for children up to age 18 and offers two locations in the Lancaster area. The pediatrics team provides a variety of services to young patients including:
  • Preventative care
  • Immunizations
  • Treatment for illnesses and injuries
  • Long-term management strategies for chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes
In addition to this, children are also able to receive Behavioral Health services at Roseville Pediatrics through Dr. Tyrone Bristol, a psychiatrist and pediatrician. The incorporation of Behavioral Health services helps ensure young patients get the mental health support they need while offering a convenient care option to patients.

If your child needs to receive specialty care, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health offers treatment options through their partnership with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Services are available at the Suburban Pavilion in Lancaster, or at one of the CHOP locations in King of Prussia or Philadelphia. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health also provides pediatric services at their Urgent Care locations throughout Lancaster. These locations are equipped to serve young patients and work to resolve any health-related issues during the visit to help prevent a trip to the Emergency Department.

If your child needs to receive care at the Emergency Department, you can rest assured knowing they will have an exceptional experience at Lancaster General Hospital. The hospital recently completed the newest phase of the expansion project that includes 13 dedicated pediatric beds. This new section is designed to provide an enhanced experience for children, adolescents and their families.

This new area of the Emergency Department offers:
  • Compassionate and timely care for your child
  • Trained providers and nurses to support pediatric patients and families
  • Child Life specialists that can help ease discomfort during hospital stays as they can teach your child coping skills through play, preparation, education and self- expression
  • A designated waiting room, registration, beds, equipment and a care model designed for pediatric patients
If needed, patients also have access to the county’s only pediatric inpatient unit- the Seraph- McSparren Pediatric Inpatient Center- located on the 4th floor of the hospital.

No matter where your child receives care, you can be certain they will have a calm, safe and seamless experience.
